Since receiving a law degree from Loyola University in 2003, I’ve had a passion for working as an attorney representing people who are underserved or treated unfairly. My history of public service includes eight years representing District 5 on the Orleans Parish School Board, two of which I served as President. I devoted my free time to the Pro Bono Project and chaired the organization’s 2016 fundraiser. I’ve served as a member of Governor John Bel Edwards’ K-12 Education Transition Team, and the NOCCA Board. I am also leading a new effort to support Travis Hill School, which serves and educates incarcerated youth.
Our city has great character and resilience, but we also have serious problems that need to be addressed. As your councilman, I will be committed to solving those problems and to keeping New Orleans and District B moving forward.– Seth Bloom
